New York Jets Rumors: Fighting For a Comeback

The New York Jets superseded rumors of fighting for a comeback, as they dueled it out with the New England Patriots this past Sunday on October 15, 2017. Jets and Patriots fans swarmed MetLife stadium located at 1 MetLife Stadium Drive, East Rutherford, NJ 07073, for the 1:00 p.m. EST game, for this epic football game.

Week 6 Injured List

Both teams began the memorable game with multiple players with previous injuries. Quarterback for the New England Patriots, Tom Brady entered the game with a shoulder injury and Cornerback Eric Rowe was out due to a groin injury. Defensive lineman for the New York Jets, Mohammad Wilkerson entered the showdown with a shoulder and toe injury alongside Quarterback Josh McCown with a shoulder injury.

Mean Green Strikes First!

As the game commenced, the New York Jets led the first quarter 7-0; infuriating the New England Patriots and their fans. Maintaining the momentum and surprise amongst most viewers, the New York Jets advanced their lead over the New England Patriots 14-0 by the end of the second quarter. But once the third quarter began, the offensive and defensive linemen of the New England Patriots woke up and stepped up to the line. New York Jets Cornerback Buster Skrine (rumored to be a secret weapon) unleashed his blink-of-an-eye agility on the turf showing the Jets are fighting for a galactic comeback in the National Football League (NFL).

Skeptical Call

After a third-quarter turnaround with two touchdowns for the New England Patriots, multiple field goal kicks were missed by their Kicker Nicholas Folk. Midway through the second half, the New England Patriots leveled the game. With less than 9 minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter, New York Jets Tight End, Austin Seferian-Jenkins made a debatable touchdown that would leave a gap of 3 points between the team’s score of 14-24 against the infamous New England Patriots, if the call was good. Fans worldwide disagreed with the referee’s call on a fumble at the pylon (which automatically transcends to a turnover for the opposite team).

Several fans have turned to social media sites and applications such as:

  • Twitter
  • Snapchat
  • Instagram
  • Facebook, and
  • Houseparty,

to post videos that show angles of New York Jets Tight End Austin Seferian-Jenkins maintaining control of the football while he rolled unto the python. Countless comments doubt the legality of the National Football League’s decision not to question the fumble, that apparently seemed questionable to millions of viewers. Many viewers believe that it is hard for some people to swallow their pride and admit how much the New York Jets has improved with Coach Todd Bowles.

Despite the turnover call that sparked outrage throughout the nation, the New York Jets will continue to fight for a comeback and turn rumors into reality. New Yorkers continue to be supportive and in high hopes for the New York Jets. The New England Patriots can take the 17-24 win home, but the questionable touchdown will be remembered for a lifetime.
