On September 26, 2016, at approximately 8:50 A.M. PDT, 44 people were injured in a double transit bus crash inside the middle section of the Lincoln Tunnel in New Jersey.
‘ABC7 NY’, reported that, “A transit bus carrying 37 passengers from Ridgefield, New Jersey, in route to the Port Authority Bus Terminal located at 625 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10018; rear-ended a fellow transit bus headed to the same location, which carried over 50 passengers.”
The New Jersey Police Department released at 10:25 A.M. PDT, in which both buses, debris, and all passengers injured in the double bus crash inside Lincoln Tunnel were cleared out of the middle section promptly.
According to ‘NBC New York,’ “44 passengers were hurt; the worst condition reported was a fractured jaw, all other injuries were non-life threatening.” As Lincoln Tunnel reopened around 11:30 A.M. PDT, all motorists traveling towards New York City endured strenuous delays.
The New Jersey Transit Authority along with the New Jersey Police Department, have not released publicly if the family members of those injured were informed about their loved ones. The current conditions of the 44 passengers injured inside Lincoln Tunnel during a double transit bus crash in New Jersey have not yet been updated.
